Our Company is an automation solution provider specializing
in Non-Contact Sensors, Motion Control and factory floor automation. We have
three divisions within our company; Distribution, Manufacturers Representative
and a Systems Group. We are very
fortunate to Distribute or Represent some of the most reputable vendors in our
industry and in many cases the number one vendor in their given field. We tend to align our company with vendors who
are offering leading edge technical products that allow our sales group and
application engineers to provide valuable technical support to further build
our relationships with our customers. Our highly qualified sales team will begin the sales process
first with understanding the customers’ application issue and needs. Once this is understood, we can recommend a
solution from one of our many top-of-the-line vendors. Our goal is to provide a product solution
that will satisfy the requirement at the best value. In addition, we have found a trend in that
our customers may need further assistance to control, install, program, or
train on the products we support.
Because of this trend, we established our Systems Group which will
provide value added service including mechanical and electrical design, panel
building, installation and start up assistance, programming, training. Our goal is to be a one stop solution for the
promoting, applying and supporting our vendors’ products. You can find me on: Company website; www.powermotionsales.com.
I have a facebook page just to say I have a facebook page. I really don’t use it much. My wife and I decided to set up facebook
pages just so we could find out what our kids were up to before everyone else
did. Position and History
with the company: My father started the company in 1979, I joined him in 1983 as a salesman. The formal transition of ownership took place
in 1995. Anyone else from your
company we should know: My wife, Vickie works at Power-Motion and is involved with the financial end of
the business, which gives me a high level of security and confidence that the
money is being closely watched. All our
vendors should get to know her since she schedules payments and signs the
checks. Favorite movie and/or
song quote: Can’t come up with a favorite movie or quote but one of my favorite books was
Undaunted Courage written by Stephen Ambrose.
It is a biography of Lewis and Clarks expedition. First Job I ever had: Chris’s Lawn Service. Started cutting
lawns in 7th grade and did so through high school and college. At the peak, I had 3 high school friends
working for me. It was a good way to
make money. Favorite tech-y tool: Although my computers have always been Microsoft based, I do like my I-stuff;
I-Phone and I-Pad. Anything Personal
you’d like to share: I battle the aging war with a little running and road biking. At this time, I think we are fighting to a
draw. I usually get a couple runs in at
the AHTD meetings. If anyone is
interested in joining me, please look me up. How has your
involvement with AHTD benefited you and/or your company: Personal as well as business relationships that my wife and I have developed
over the years has been one of the biggest benefits we have gotten from AHTD. Regarding benefits from a business
perspective, our company wouldn’t be where we are today if it wasn’t for some
of the vendors we were able to align with that we met through AHTD. What is your best
AHTD memory? I have had many great memories over the 30 years attending AHTD meetings. I can’t come up with a favorite. Why do you think
others should suggest AHTD membership to their colleagues? For the benefits outlined above as well as the networking opportunities
afforded to all members during the meetings. What do you hope to see in AHTD in the next 25
years? I have been attending AHTD meeting for 20 years now. Over these 20 years, some people and products
have changed but the fundamental benefits of AHTD have been the same. I would expect that over the next 25 years,
people and products will continue to change but the benefits will stay the
same.
